ENTREPRENEURSHIP

OUR BUSINESS WORLD

Level: Secondary 1, 2 and 3

Method: Virtually and in class

Duration: 2 to 4 hours

Program description: This program was developed with the goal of introducing students to the business world. It uses an interactive approach and real-world exercises to address important questions including: What is a business? What impact does a business have on society? How do businesses evolve over time and how do they adapt to recent technology? Should I become an entrepreneur?

BE ENTREPRENEURIAL

Level: Secondary 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5

Method: Virtually and in class

Duration: 2 to 4 hours

Program description: This program challenges students to create their business plan while they are still in school. Through practical workshops on entrepreneurship, planning and strategy development, students prepare their business plan. Be Entrepreneurial presents the key components of a business and helps students to think like entrepreneurs.

FINANCIAL LITERACY

ECONOMICS FOR SUCCESS

Level: Secondary 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5

Method: Virtually and in class

Duration: 2 to 4 hours

Program description: This very popular program leads students through a reflection on the advantages of pursuing their studies and helps them to define their career objectives, skills, dreams and passions. The program covers the importance of staying in school, skills development, education and career planning. Students also participate in mock job interviews and learn the importance of making a good first impression.

DOLLARS WITH SENSE

Level: Secondary 3, 4 and 5

Method: Virtually and in class

Duration: 2 to 4 hours

Program description: This exceptional program teaches financial literacy. It’s designed to respond to the urgent need for financial education in Quebec. Students are taught to understand the importance of setting goals, saving money and making smart decisions to manage their finances responsibly. With the help of games, students learn how to avoid the pitfalls of credit and debt. They also learn about the history of money, the various forms of consumerism and budgeting money for a project.

WORK READINESS

STRONGER TOGETHER: DIVERSITY IN ACTION

Level: Secondary 1, 2 and 3

Method: Virtually and in class

Duration: 2 to 4 hours

Program description: This program is designed to prepare students for the job market, where they will be required to work as a team to reach common goals and work alongside others despite differences like race, gender, age, sexual orientation and socio-economic status. How can diversity be an asset rather than an obstacle in the workplace? This program encourages young people to develop a positive attitude toward diversity.

SUCCESS SKILLS

Level: Secondary 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5

Method: Virtually and in class

Duration: 2 to 4 hours

Program description: This exciting program allows students to develop four essential job market skills that are also applicable to everyday life: communication, cooperation, problem solving and continued learning. This training program teaches students about these key skills and how to put them into practice on a daily basis.

WORLD OF CHOICES

Level: 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5

Method: Virtually and in class

Duration: 2 to 4 hours

Program description: World of Choices brings students together with career mentors working in desired fields, industries and professions. In small sessions, students learn first-hand what it takes to be successful. Each student can participate in interactive sessions that will open up a world of choices for Canada’s youth.
Each session is allotted time for questions and interactive conversations.
This program clarifies career and educational pathways and students become actively engaged in designing a career path.
