Message from the CEO

For more than a year, the special context of the pandemic has led us to tackle new challenges. Like many of you, we chose to turn those challenges into opportunities to continue to grow.

At JA Quebec, we've continued to be proactive and innovative:
• We've continued delivering our programs differently, online and through new digital tools.
• We got our partners involved in making and posting videos about finances and entrepreneurship on social media.
• We've created new programs to reach even more young people.
• We've kept some of our activities going by bringing them online.
To our partners and donors:, Your support is critical to educating our future leaders and entrepreneurs.

To our volunteers:, The advice and expertise you share with our students are invaluable to them.

To teachers and others in schools who deliver our programs:, Your amazing work giving students a unique experience will have positive impacts on their future.

And finally, to the members of our committees, regional advisory boards and the board of directors:, Your hard work and determination are helping our organization grow, allowing more young people to benefit from our programs.

We look forward to continuing to work with you to deliver the JA Experience to Quebec youth! Because it allows them to acquire knowledge and develop skills as early as primary or secondary school. It means offering them an opportunity to experience entrepreneurship, learn about finances and be well prepared to enter the workforce. And it means giving them the tools for success. Let's help prepare a dynamic new generation in Quebec, together.

Thank you to the schools, teachers and volunteers who helped our young entrepreneurs experience what it's like to start a business, despite the pandemic.

Quebec young entrepreneur receives national award: Congratulations Nicolas Dostie!
Nicolas Dostie, the president of Arrière-Saison, was awarded the Seymour Schulich Entrepreneurship Scholarship in May 2021 by JA Canada in recognition of his academic excellence, entrepreneurial spirit and outstanding achievements. In 2020, Arrière-Saison was named Quebec Company of the Year and went on to become Canadian Company of the Year in the manufacturing/retail category. Arrière-Saison was started through JA Quebec's Company Program, initially producing reusable bags. Since the end of the program, the company has continued its business and added a new clothing line.

Testimonial from Myriam Chayer, volunteer/mentor

With the pandemic, it's hard to see the positive every day. But through my experience as a volunteer for the Virtual Entrepreneurial Project program, I saw that most of the young entrepreneurs I advised were full of hope. The biggest challenge we faced was building team spirit and finding a way to work efficiently online. But despite the difficulties, Aquakaeli managed to make a name for itself and win the award for best entrepreneurial project. I'm very proud of my students!
I've been donating my time to JA Quebec for 10 years now. I encourage you to join me in the next edition of the Company Program, which starts in October. Because who knows? The kids you mentor might be named Quebec Company of the Year at the next Future Business Leaders Gala!

This year, our students were able to participate in our programs on finances and entrepreneurship through a new online format. They also had access to new digital tools, as well as the option to do activities on their own through the new self-directed courses on jacampus.org
